Bio-Compression-Schrauben sind vielseitig einsetzbar und können bei der Behandlung zahlreicher Indikationen der unteren und oberen Extremitäten verwendet werden. Unter Verwendung einfacher Instrumente zum Bohren und Gewindeschneiden zieht diese Schraube durch die abgestufte Gewindesteigung und die konische Form zwei Fragmente aneinander. Die Bio-Compression-Schraube aus festem, verbesserten PLLA wird nach und nach resorbiert und gewährleistet beim Eindrehen und während der gesamten Heilungsphase eine hervorragende Stabilität. Da die Bio-Compression-Schraube keinen Kopf besitzt, steht sie nicht über die Kortikalis hervor und ist im Röntgenbild nicht sichtbar, sodass eine äußerst naturnahe Rekonstruktion gewährleistet ist. Es sind zwei Produktlinien verfügbar: 3-mm- und 3,5-mm-Schrauben. Die 3-mm-Schrauben sind in 2-mm-Abstufungen in den Längen 16-26 mm erhältlich. Die 3,5-mm-Schrauben sind vollständig kanüliert und in 2-mm-Abstufungen in den Längen 16-32 mm sowie mit einem variierenden proximalen Durchmesser erhältlich. Die Anwendung am Fuß und Sprunggelenk umfasst: OCD, Frakturen, Osteotomien und Arthrodese der Tarsalia, Metatarsalia und Phalangen. Ganz gleich, ob Hallux-valgus-Korrektur oder Traumaversorgung – die Bio-Compression-Schraube ermöglicht eine hervorragende Kompression und gewährleistet während der normalen Heilungsphase eine hervorragende Stabilität. Im Rahmen von Eingriffen an den unteren Extremitäten kann die Bio-Compression-Schraube entweder perkutan oder in einem offenen Verfahren eingesetzt werden. Dank der im Set enthaltenen kanülierten Instrumente kann die präzise Platzierung der Schraube sichergestellt werden.

Mit der Verwendung einer 3.0-mm-Bio-Compression-Schraube entfällt die Notwendigkeit eines Zweiteingriffs zur Metallentfernung. Auch Einklemmungen von Weichgewebe und unerwünschte Artefaktbildungen bei radiologischen Untersuchen gehören der Vergangenheit an. Diese Schraube ohne Kopf bietet eine optimale interfragmentäre Kompression bei Frakturen, bei der Fixierung von Osteotomien und bei periartikulären Applikationen. Die Bio-Compression-Schraube wird aus festem, verbesserten PLLA hergestellt. Sie ermöglicht einen hervorragenden Gewinde-Knochen-Kontakt und ist beim Eindrehen und während der Heilung extrem stabil. 
 
Durch die abgestufte Gewindesteigung und die konische Form zieht diese Schraube zwei Fragmente aneinander, ohne dass ein Überbohren des proximalen Knochenstücks erforderlich ist. Da die Bio-Compression-Schraube keinen Kopf besitzt und resorbierbar ist, steht sie nicht über die Kortikalis hervor und ist im Röntgenbild nicht sichtbar. Somit kann eine naturnahe Rekonstruktion erreicht werden. Ein einfaches, kostengünstiges Instrumentenset ermöglicht exaktes Bohren und Gewindeschneiden ohne Schätzungen.

Die BioSync-Osteotomiekeile bieten eine Alternative zu allogenem/autologem Knochenmaterial, das meist bei Osteotomien nach Evans und Cotton Anwendung findet. Ein innovativer poröser Titankeil, bestehend aus einem dreidimensionalen offenzelligen Titangerüst, das Knochen- und Gewebeeinwuchs ermöglicht. Diese osteokonduktive Umgebung ist darauf ausgerichtet, die Knochenintegration zu erleichtern und den Korrekturerhalt zu maximieren.

Procedure

Die Chevron-Osteotomie ist die gängigste Technik zur Korrektur leichter bis mittelschwerer Ballenzehdeformitäten. Üblicherweise wird dieser Eingriff über einen offenen Zugang durchgeführt. Doch seit der Einführung der minimal-invasiven Chirurgie haben Operateur:innen nun die Möglichkeit, eine Chevron-Osteotomie durch kleine perkutane Inzisionen vorzunehmen. Nach der Osteotomie wird das kapitale Fragment lateral verschoben und entweder mit Compression FT-Schrauben für den minimal-invasiven chirurgischen Zugang oder mit Compression PT-Schrauben für den herkömmlichen offenen Zugang fixiert.
