Labral Fixation

The hip labrum acts like a gasket around the acetabulum supporting the hip joint and helping maintain the hydrostatic pressure inside the joint space. To treat pincer impingement associated with femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), an acetabuloplasty procedure is often performed and a labral repair is necessary to recreate the anatomy of the hip. The hip labral repair is performed using a variety of Arthrex suture-passing devices and anchors by placing sutures through the labrum in either a simple cinch or labral base mattress configuration to restore the anatomic positioning of the labrum.
