Backed by years of literature, fibular nailing is an established option for treating ankle fractures.1 The FibuLock nail is a load-sharing device that is inserted through a small incision to stabilize the fracture during healing. This minimally invasive technique reduces wound complications, preserves soft tissue, and is indicative of lower overall complication rates.2 The FibuLock PRO fibular nail is an improved solution that provides surgeons with more options for treating ankle fractures. Features include longer nails, headless cortical screws, expanded fixation options, and modular instrumentation. Additionally, the new nail offers a way to obtain and maintain length intraoperatively. Lastly, the FibuLock PRO nail features novel proximal talons that open 12% wider than the first-generation FibuLock nail,3 providing stronger fixation and enhanced rotational control.

FibuLock® PRO Fibular Nail

The FibuLock fibular nail is a cutting-edge, biologically friendly treatment for ankle fractures. It is inserted into the fibula through a small incision and acts like an internal splint to stabilize the fracture during healing. This minimally invasive technique may reduce wound complications often associated with standard open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) plating techniques.1 The proximal talons allow for stable fixation to restore length, alignment, and rotation. The FibuLock nail is the only system on the market with this capability.

FibuLock® Fibular Nail

The Arthrex Tibial Nail System is designed to provide intramedullary fixation for various types of fractures, malunions, and nonunions of the tibia. The Arthrex tibial nail system provides the tools for a parapatellar or suprapatellar approach in the same tray. The distal screw configuration is an extremely distal locked cluster, maximizing the working length of the nail, and allowing surgeons to treat extremely proximal or distal fracture patterns.
The Tibial Nail System features the following:

Extremely distal locked cluster: Three distal screws at 5 mm, 13 mm, and 21 mm from the end of the nail

Three proximal screw options, including a dynamic slot for compression or static positioning

Threaded screw holes to maintain screw position in the 2 proximal static holes and the distal AP hole

Up to 8 mm intraoperative or postoperative compression

Small and large flexible suprapatellar sheaths to minimize pressure on the patella

Diameters: 8 mm to 13 mm (in 1 mm increments)

Lengths: 27 cm to 42 cm (in 1.5 cm increments)

10° proximal Herzog bend and 3° distal bend to facilitate implantation

Tibial Nail System

The Arthrex trochanteric nail is a next-generation hip nail that addresses the remaining shortcomings of current systems and consists of three nail types—short nail, long nail, and the innovative ES nail.
Telescoping Lag Screw—Self-contained collapse within the lag screw prevents lateral lag screw irritation.
ES Nail Option—Combines the mechanical advantages of a long nail with the ease of a short nail. It extends through the isthmus of the bone, which can reduce distal tip stress risers, potential “pendulum” effects, and risks of peri-prosthetic fractures associated with short nails.1 The ES hole is easily targeted through the nail jig.
Biological Augmentation—Allows for the delivery of orthobiologics (BoneSync™ cement, autologous blood products, AlloSync Pure™, etc) through the lag screw instrumentation, prior to final screw seating.
Advanced Instrumentation—Designed to reduce surgical pain points and facilitate surgical work flow.

Lag screw locking through the inserter (no set screw required)

Captured distal 5.0 mm screws

Calibrated drill bits

Jig removal through the more lateral impactor attachment hole

To address various types of fractures, the Patella SuturePlate™ II system offers three types of plates in different sizes. All plates are made of titanium and have a low-profile thickness of 1.6 mm with screws sitting flush on the plate. Suture holes in the plate can be optionally used for soft-tissue reattachment or ligament bracing.

Patella SuturePlate™ II

Arthrex offers a wide variety of solutions in our ankle fracture portfolio, including titanium plating options. Plate offerings include locking third tubular plates, 3.5 mm reconstruction plates, and the locking distal fibular plate. Each plate is designed for use with the Syndesmosis TightRope® XP implant and includes a compression hole in the proximal shaft of the plate. The distal fibular plate also includes 3.0 mm variable-angle locking screws distally and suture eyelets for the addition of the AITFL InternalBrace™ ligament augmentation procedure.

The InternalBrace surgical technique is intended only to augment the primary repair/reconstruction by expanding the area of tissue approximation during the healing period and is not intended as a replacement for the native ligament. The InternalBrace technique is for use during soft tissue-to-bone fixation procedures and is not cleared for bone-to-bone fixation.

The Arthrex Pilon Fusion System is an expansion to the Arthrex Ankle Fusion Plating System that adds to the Arthrex portfolio for the following procedures:

Distal tibia fractures that require fracture reduction and primary ankle arthrodesis

Primary ankle fusions that necessitate additional screw options or plate lengths

Revision ankle arthrodesis for failed primary fusions, hindfoot nails, or total ankle replacement

Severe damage to the tibiotalar (TT) joint often results in posttraumatic arthritis, pain, stiffness, and non-unions that require secondary surgeries. The Pilon Fusion System provides another option to address these severe scenarios with primary TT arthrodesis of the articular surface to potentially avoid additional surgery and chronic pain.
Anterolateral and posterior approaches, depending on the fracture pattern and/or soft-tissue condition, allow for fracture management, lengthy bridging techniques, anatomic implants, and fracture-specific locking configurations.
