The SwiveLock fixation kit includes the implants and instruments needed to back up the fixation sutures of an ACL graft or FiberTape® suture for the InternalBrace™ technique in an ACL reconstruction or primary repair. The kit contains a 4.75 mm SwiveLock implant as well as a spade-tipped drill and two sizes of disposable taps (4.75 mm and 5.2 mm). Because successful ACL reconstruction requires strong tibial fixation, this system provides a reliable and reproducible augment to ACL tibial fixation.
The InternalBrace surgical technique is intended only to augment the primary repair/reconstruction by expanding the area of tissue approximation during the healing period and is not intended as a replacement for the native ligament. The InternalBrace technique is for use during soft tissue-to-bone fixation procedures and is not cleared for bone-to-bone fixation.

Das Interesse an ACL-Primärrefixationen als Behandlung von ACL-Rupturen des Typs I und II nach Sherman nimmt zu. Eine sorgfältige Analyse früherer Daten hat ergeben, dass bestimmte Untergruppen von Rissen des vorderen Kreuzbandes, insbesondere proximale Risse mit guter Gewebequalität, bei der ACL-Primärrefixation positive klinische Ergebnisse aufweisen.1
Studien über die Ergebnisse von Operationen zur Erhaltung des verbliebenen vorderen Kreuzbandes (VKB) haben ermutigende Ergebnisse mit einem potenziell höheren Heilungserfolg und besseren funktionellen Ergebnissen im Vergleich zu Operationen mit Resektion des verbliebenen VKB gezeigt.2 Die Erhaltung des ursprünglichen VKB mit der Primärrekonstruktionstechnik kann kurzfristig einen klinischen Erfolg erzielen und zu guten klinischen Ergebnissen bei der 3-Jahres-Nachbeobachtung in dieser sorgfältig ausgewählten Patientengruppe führen.3,4
Die arthroskopische Primärrefixation ist ein minimalinvasiver Ansatz, da keine Transplantate verwendet werden müssen und, falls erforderlich, die Revisionsoperationen eher analog zu den Primärrekonstruktionen erfolgen.4&nbsp;Ziel des Eingriffs ist es, das noch vorhandene natürliche Band zu erhalten. Auf diese Weise bleiben auch die natürlichen Nervenenden und die Blutversorgung erhalten.5

A technique gaining popularity, PCL repair is generally indicated for bony avulsions, which almost always occur off the tibia. PCL injuries can happen during sports-related activities or high-velocity, traumatic accidents. Applications for operative treatment of PCL tears include acute injuries, tears in active young patients, and either isolated Grade 3 tears or a combined injury, such as Grade 2 tears with posterolateral corner instability.
PCL tears can be treated with innovative, minimally invasive procedures using the PCL Repair Tightrope® implant and FiberRing™ sutures.
