O sistema de seringa dupla (autologous conditioned plasma ou ACP, na sigla em inglês) é usado para facilitar o preparo rápido e seguro do plasma rico em plaquetas (PRP) autólogo com uma pequena amostra de sangue colhida do proprio paciente. O PRP pode ser misturado com o auto-enxerto u aloenxertado antes da aplicação no local auto-enxerto conforme considerado necessário pelos requisitos de uso clínico. Houve um crescimento no interesse em produtos sanguíneos autólogos para uso em várias terapias ortopédicas. Os efeitos cicatrizantes do plasma rico em plaquetas são provocados pelos fatores de crescimento liberados pelas plaquetas que podem induzir a resposta de cicatricação.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Processing Systems

The Thrombinator system is compatible with any of the Arthrex platelet-rich plasma (PRP) processing systems using whole blood or platelet-poor plasma (PPP) to create an autologous thrombin-rich serum at the point of care. The Thrombinator process applies the principles of the clotting cascade to produce the autologous serum or gel without the use of harsh chemical reagents.
