Senior Product Engineer Honored for Volunteering with Special Olympics
If you’ve ever thought of volunteering, but worry you might not have the time or skills, take it from Senior Product Engineer Kevin Stanton—just do it. He says, “Until you get involved you can’t understand the impact you have on peoples’ lives.”
Special Olympics of Collier County honored Kevin last week for his contributions, as he steps down from the executive committee. The organization provides year-round sports training and competitive opportunities for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Kevin served in several different roles as a volunteer, but the one he enjoyed the most was as a basketball coach. “It’s inspiring to see the athletes not letting their challenges stop them and improving their skills each season.” The only requirement for being a coach? A love of helping others with challenges...no previous experience required!
Special Olympics of Collier County is just one of the 100+ organizations supported by Arthrex. As Kevin moves on to other responsibilities, he’s encouraging Arthrex employees to pick up where he left off, “Special Olympics gives you a new perspective on challenges that other people face. It’s a great way to get involved in the community.” And the timing is perfect as it's National Volunteer Week!
