Arthrex Named One of Florida’s Top 100 Best Companies to Work For
NAPLES, FL – September 4, 2012 – Arthrex was recently named to the prestigious list of Florida’s Top 100 Best Companies To Work For 2012. One hundred companies were recognized in small, medium and large company categories; Arthrex was named 22nd in the large company category. The listing is published in the August 2012 issue of Florida Trend.
“It is a tremendous honor to be included on this list,” said Kathy Sparrow, Vice President of Human Resources at Arthrex. “With exceptional benefits and a strong, positive workplace culture where employees exhibit great pride and camaraderie, we proudly maintain an employee turnover rate of less than 2 percent annually.”
The Best Companies To Work For program was created by Florida Trend and Best Companies Group, and is endorsed by the HR Florida State Council. Companies that choose to participate in the annual selection undergo an evaluation of their workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The process also includes a survey to measure employee satisfaction.
“One thing that distinguishes best companies everywhere is their ability to hire effectively. So for our coverage this year we focused on how Florida’s Best Companies go about identifying and choosing their workers,” said Mark Howard, executive editor at Florida Trend. “Hard skills are clearly important, but the companies we talked to generally put a lot of emphasis on other things as well – how well a worker will fit into the company’s culture, for example. And in deciding whether to hire someone, they frequently involve as many of their current employees as possible.”
“The groups that carefully evaluate new staff are frequently the same ones that serve their clients exceptionally well,” said Florida Trend Publisher Andrew Corty. “It’s our pleasure to recognize these great companies and encourage others to join them in building Florida’s competitive advantage.”
Arthrex currently has more than 1,400 employees in Southwest Florida and close to 2,000 employees worldwide. As one of America’s fastest growing private companies, Arthrex hired more than 300 new employees in 2011, and has hired 233 new employees so far in 2012.
