Arthrex Digs for a Cure at American Cancer Society’s 2012 Relay For Life
Arthrex
proudly sponsored the 16th Annual Relay For Life event to benefit
the American Cancer Society on April 20-21, 2012, at Gulfview Middle School,
along with 7,000 other participants from throughout Collier County.
The
fun, all-night walkathon began with an opening ceremony and survivor lap around
the course surrounded by luminaries to remember those who have lost their
battle with cancer. The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a
life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a
chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved
ones lost, and fight back against the disease. Because cancer never sleeps,
each team has a representative on the track at all times during the 24-hour event.
Arthrex proudly represented by winning the “Spirit Stick Award” as well as one
of the “Top 10 Tents” with its Digging for a Cure archeological dig-themed tent
décor.
In
addition to Arthrex’s $25,000 Platinum-Level Sponsorship, Arthrex team
participants helped raise more than $10,500 through online donations and
various fundraising sales throughout the year. With Arthrex’s support, the
event raised more than $500,000 to help fund lifesaving cancer research and
educational programs.
