Trip of a Lifetime: Daniel Medrano's Memorable Tour of Europe
We’re happy to share another employee’s Trip of a Lifetime story. This time, Senior Quality Control Inspector Daniel Medrano shares highlights from his company-paid visit to six European countries:
“My wife and brother accompanied me on my Trip of a Lifetime to celebrate my five years of service at Arthrex in May. We created an itinerary with visits to England, France, Switzerland, Italy, Vatican City and Norway. We flew into London, England first and took a double-decker bus to visit the Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, London Bridge, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben and Abbey Road. We even attended the Royal Wedding Procession of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle! Then, we took the Richard Branson Virgin train to Liverpool to visit Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields and the boyhood homes of the Beatles.
The second leg of our journey took us on a Eurostar train (top speeds of up to 186 mph) under the English Channel (the world’s longest underwater tunnel) to Paris, France. We visited the Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Élysées, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Mona Lisa inside the Louvre Museum, lead singer of The Doors Jim Morrison’s gravesite and the Eiffel Tower.
Next, we took a train to Italy, traveling through Switzerland on the way. We arrived in Rome with our sights set on the Roman Coliseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City (world’s smallest country) and the Sistine Chapel, famous for Michelangelo’s ceiling. I even got a selfie with Pope Francis!
On our way home, we made a stop in Oslo, Norway before heading back to the U.S. I’m so appreciative that I work for a company that takes care of its employees like Arthrex does.”
For every five years of employment with Arthrex, employees are eligible for a company-paid Trip of a Lifetime to recognize their dedication. Look for more Trip of a Lifetime highlights on the Arthrex Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn pages.
