Subscapularis Tears Presentation Series (Part 1): Recognition
Patrick J. Denard, MD (Medford, OR), reviews recent literature regarding the efficacy of physical exams and MRI in recognizing subscapularis tears. He discusses two retrospective reviews of more than 800 patients demonstrating that subscapularis tears are difficult to detect accurately and consistently on physical exam and MRI. Therefore, it is important to confirm the integrity of the subscapularis arthroscopically, which is simplified with the ability to switch between 30, 70, and ultrawide view modes with the Pano™ scope and Synergy Vision™ system.
