Why We Chose the Synergy Surgical Video Platform

So we adopted the synergy platform in our surgical center approximately six months ago. We brought in four different vendors as a trial. All of our surgeons were exposed to all of those vendors. In the end, we chose to use the synergy platform for a number of reasons. We felt the image quality was better than the other vendors. We appreciated the cloud based storage of the images. It really simplified our management of the images after surgery. And then additionally, we felt that it greatly improved our communication with our patients after surgery, just with the use of the iPad application. One particular advantage of synergy is that as a software based system, upgrades can be made periodically responding to changes or needs that surgeons have, rather than the hardware becoming obsolete every couple of years. Having to purchase new cameras, new boxes. Simple software upgrades can be made to enhance the system as needed. Our facility felt it made financial sense to purchase this hardware system that can be upgraded as needed. The image quality has greatly enhanced our work over previous technologies, both in surgery as well as after surgery. The 4K technology in surgery I have a great appreciation of blood vessels that may be bleeding into the into the field. I have a better appreciation of the tissue quality. So the image quality in surgery far exceeds what we were previously using. The synergy with the iPad app has greatly eased the workload of this whole process. It's secure. I'm not concerned about the security of it. It's easy. The images automatically push to a cloud. Those images can be accessed anywhere on the planet, including. And importantly, at that patient's two week post-op visit. When we're discussing their surgical findings with them, we can easily access those images from our laptop computers in the office. Use of the app is fairly simple. Images can be annotated. You can simply select an image. Annotation simply by dragging down on the screen. Preset labels can be created. They can be erased easily. Videos can be viewed from surgery. Patient reports are easily created and customizable. This is a fairly simple report with images, videos, and a personal message to the patient that can all be emailed at the send button to the appropriate email address. I hope that my patient satisfaction scores will mirror those of Doctor Pennington in Wisconsin, who has noticed that his press Ganey scores have improved simply by adopting this technology. We live in an era where patient satisfaction really drives a lot of decisions that are made in health care, and I feel this technology can improve the patient experience. It improves their communication with me as a surgeon. And in the end, I think it will lead to improved satisfaction with with what I'm doing for them as a surgeon. As I reflect on our decision to implement this technology in our surgical center, I'm very glad that we did. The image quality has lived up to its expectation. The product has proven to be very durable. We have not had to replace boxes or camera heads. Additionally, our representatives are already there for other procedure procedural specific needs. So if we have problems with the technology, they can easily be addressed by the representatives that are currently in our rooms.
