Mark Ferguson, MD, (Johannesburg, South Africa) shows some of the unique modes of instability injuries faced by the rugby players he commonly treats. He describes his preference for open Latarjet over Bankart repair for this patient population. Dr. Ferguson commonly starts the procedure arthroscopically to perform the capsulolabral release and repair any other pathology. He commonly finds posterior labral tears which he repairs with a knotless PushLock® and LabralTape™ before moving on to the open Latarjet technique. He also describes his success in using the Wedged Profile Plate to allow for compression of the graft onto the glenoid.
