Effective communication with patients is becoming critical in health care today. Synergy.net provides the tools to increase surgeon and or efficiency, significantly enhance patient satisfaction, and substantially reduce rapidly rising infrastructure costs. The Synergy.net SurgeonVault provides secure, HIPAA compliant storage for surgical videos and stills. The web based portal provides surgeons a simple and intuitive way to edit video files for presentations, as well as providing archiving capabilities from the previously entered schedule. Users select the surgeon and procedure, and the SynergyRF system sets up all connected equipment according to the centrally stored surgeon's preferences. Information can be displayed on the primary operative monitor. This includes pump, shaver, remote viewer, printer, and network status information. Stills and video are seamlessly and instantly transferred to pre-selected locations, including PACs. The SurgeonVault encrypted portable media and iPad utilizing the Synergy.net or Command surgery schedules can be viewed and changed remotely as required. Nurse managers can monitor live streaming video from endoscopic and room cameras from multiple owners on a single monitor or mobile device. They can view the status of equipment and procedures and send text messages to selected rooms or command can be used to adjust surgery schedule in real time based on or availability through the use of proprietary software and image processing. The real time editing and annotating of images enables surgeons to quickly and efficiently present the highest quality information. Postoperatively effective communication is essential to improving the patient experience. The Synergy Surgeon iPad application provides a quick and easy tool for displaying surgical videos and stills to patients and their families. Surgeons can also email the patient a secure document, where the patient can view the videos and stills from their procedure. The patient can also view attached documents such as post-operative and rehab instructions, as well as frequently asked questions and links to selected websites for additional patient education.
