AITFL Repair With InternalBrace™ Ligament Augmentation Procedure in a Weber C Ankle Fracture

Justin Fleming, DPM (Philadelphia, PA), uses the titanium distal fibular plate with the InternalBrace™ ligament augmentation procedure and the knotless TightRope® implant for a Weber C fracture with syndesmosis disruption. Dr. Fleming highlights the eyelets that allow for addition of the AITFL InternalBrace ligament augmentation repair for increased stability of the anterior syndesmosis.

The InternalBrace surgical technique is intended only to augment the primary repair/reconstruction by expanding the area of tissue approximation during the healing period and is not intended as a replacement for the native ligament. The InternalBrace technique is for use during soft tissue-to-bone fixation procedures and is not cleared for bone-to-bone fixation.
