Brostrom and Achilles Tendon Repair With InternalBrace™ Ligament Augmentation Repair

Gordon Mackay, MD, (Glasgow, Scotland), demonstrates InternalBrace ligament augmentation repair for lateral ankle instability and midsubstance Achilles repair using the Knotless SpeedBridge™ technique. Within this cadaveric demonstration, Dr. Mackay highlights anatomic landmarks and tensioning of the construct via a minimal incision approach. The second demonstration, combining the PARS and SpeedBridge™ techniques, allows for less dissection, faster operative time, less wound issues, and possible earlier return to normal activities.1

The InternalBrace surgical technique is intended only to augment the primary repair/reconstruction by expanding the area of tissue approximation during the healing period and is not intended as a replacement for the native ligament. The InternalBrace technique is for use during soft tissue-to-bone fixation procedures and is not cleared for bone-to-bone fixation.
