Procedure

The Eclipse system has been used successfully to treat primary and post-traumatic osteoarthritis, and has been supported by several clinical publications in the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, including a thorough 9-year prospective cohort that began in 2005.1
The technique and the system’s streamlined instrumentation allow for clinically proven restoration of patient-specific humeral anatomy.2 Additionally, the system has a bone-preserving design and can be easily removed, helping to ensure stable revision procedures, when necessary.3
The Eclipse system is compatible with pegged, keeled, and Univers VaultLock® glenoids, and the Universal Glenoid™ convertible baseplate.

The Univers II humeral component was designed to account for anatomical variations of the proximal humerus commonly encountered by the surgeon. Variable adjustment with respect to the inclination angle, version and head offset are features critical to reconstruction of the proximal humerus. The simplified design of the Univers II humeral component allows for the adaptation of the humeral stem and articular surface to the position that best represents the patient’s normal anatomy. All of the adjustments can be made intraoperatively with the implant in the humeral canal. This unique feature allows the surgeon to more accurately recreate the normal anatomical relationships of the shoulder joint.
