The Arthrex Pilon Fusion System is an expansion to the Arthrex Ankle Fusion Plating System that adds to the Arthrex portfolio for the following procedures:
<ul>
 <li>Distal tibia fractures that require fracture reduction and primary ankle arthrodesis</li>
 <li>Primary ankle fusions that necessitate additional screw options or plate lengths</li>
 <li>Revision ankle arthrodesis for failed primary fusions, hindfoot nails, or total ankle replacement</li>
</ul>
Severe damage to the tibiotalar (TT) joint often results in posttraumatic arthritis, pain, stiffness, and non-unions that require secondary surgeries. The Pilon Fusion System provides another option to address these severe scenarios with primary TT arthrodesis of the articular surface to potentially avoid additional surgery and chronic pain.
Anterolateral and posterior approaches, depending on the fracture pattern and/or soft-tissue condition, allow for fracture management, lengthy bridging techniques, anatomic implants, and fracture-specific locking configurations.
