This ultra-high–strength suture has a long-chain polyethylene structure similar to FiberWire® suture. Part of the FiberWire® suture family, FiberTape® and TigerTape are ultra-high strength, 2 mm width tapes using a similar long chain polyethylene structure as the FiberWire suture. In addition to high demand applications like AC joint reconstruction, the broad footprint of the FiberTape is appropriate for repairs in degenerative cuff tissue where tissue pull-through may be a concern. FiberTape is blue with each end tapered to a #2 FiberWire and comes 2 mm, 36” or 2 mm, 7”. TigerTape is 2 mm, 7” white/black with each end tapered to a #2 FiberWire. There are a variety of innovative solutions to arthroscopic suture passing in the FiberWire family including TigerWire®, FiberStick® and TigerStick®, FiberLoop®, FiberSnare®, FiberChain®, and FiberLink™. Elbow

Procedure

Recurrent instability of the elbow typically includes posterolateral rotary subluxation with disruption of the lateral collateral ligament complex. A tendon graft or FiberTape® alone can be used to reconstruct the elbow. Identify the LUCL insertion site on the supinator crest and drill a single 5 mm bone socket at the level of the radial head. The isometric origin on the humerus is identified and a single 5 mm bone socket is made. The graft can be prepared on both ends using #2 FiberLoop® creating a running stitch while ensuring its circumference is 5 mm or less. Capture the one end of the graft with the forked end of the 4.75 mm forked SwiveLock®, dunk it into the ulnar socket and advance the implant in the standard fashion making sure the graft is adjacent to the humerus. Hold the graft taut over the socket in the humerus and insert the forked SwiveLock. For FiberTape reconstruction a 4.75 mm SwiveLock with eyelet is loaded with a FiberTape leaving equal tails and inserted in the supinator crest socket. Both tails of the FiberTape from the first anchor are placed in the eyelet of a second SwiveLock. The FiberTape is tensioned and the anchor is placed in the humeral socket in the isometric location.

FiberTape® Augmentation

Ruptures of the quadriceps and patellar tendons are common in elite and recreational athletes. Most surgeons treat these injuries surgically to lessen the risk of long-term disability and morbidity. Historically, open techniques have been used for rupture repairs but may be complicated by wound-healing issues and infection. The minimally invasive Percutaneous Achilles Repair System (PARS) technique can be used to treat quadriceps, patellar, and Achilles tendon ruptures.

Patellar Tendon Repair

There has been a renewed interest in ACL primary repairs as the treatment for Sherman Type I and Type II ACL ruptures. Careful analysis of historical data has revealed that certain ACL tear subgroups, especially proximal tears with good tissue quality, have positive clinical outcomes with primary ACL repair.1
Studies reporting outcomes of remnant-preserving ACL surgeries have shown encouraging results and a greater potential for early healing and better functional outcomes compared with remnant-resecting surgeries.2 Preservation of the native ACL using the primary repair technique can achieve short-term clinical success and result in good clinical outcomes at 3-year follow-up in this carefully selected patient population.3
Arthroscopic primary repair is minimally invasive in that no grafts need to be harvested, no tunnels need to be drilled, and revision surgery, if necessary, is more analogous to primary reconstructions.4 The goal of the procedure is to preserve the remnant native ligament. By doing this, the native nerve endings and blood supply are preserved.5

ACL Repair

The fully threaded, knotless SwiveLock C anchor is designed for use with FiberWire® or FiberTape® sutures during rotator cuff repair with the SpeedFix™, SutureBridge™, or SpeedBridge™ technique. The Labral SwiveLock anchor is available for instability repair and provides very high pullout and insertion strength while saving time.1 SwiveLock anchors are cannulated and vented to minimize material and allow for potential bony ingrowth.2 The anchors are available in multiple sizes, and in bioabsorbable biocomposite or PLLA and nonabsorbable PEEK materials.

SwiveLock® C Anchor

The self-punching 4.75 mm and 5.5 mm SwiveLock SP anchor combines a titanium tip with a biocomposite, PLLA, PEEK, or titanium anchor body to eliminate the need for prepunching a bone socket. This self-punching design can help save valuable OR time, while increasing the precision of the final construct. The SwiveLock SP anchor can be combined with FiberTape® suture to complete a SpeedFix™ repair or SpeedBridge™ knotless rotator cuff repair.
