The Bio-Tenodesis™ Screw System, which includes the <a href="https://www.arthrex.com/shoulder/tenodesis-screws" title="Tenodesis Screw™">Tenodesis Screw™</a>, was designed specifically for the reattachment of ligament and tendon soft tissue to bone. The Bio-Tenodesis Driver facilitates accurate graft tensioning into a bony socket in a simple “push-in” method. The interference fit provided by the Tenodesis Screw and FiberWire virtually eliminates graft separation from the bone. The strength of the repair achieved with the system allows patients to generally begin postoperative rehab earlier than previously permitted. The Bio-Tenodesis Screws are composed of PLLA and are available in numerous sizes to fit all applications. There are also titanium and PEEK Tenodesis Screws available for use with the system, if desired. The system is ideal for the reattachment of soft tissue to bone in upper extremity procedures including rotator cuff repairs, proximal/distal biceps tenodesis andacromioclavicular joint reconstruction.

The CMC Ligament Reconstruction Kit provides a convenient all-in-one solution for ligament reconstruction of the base of the thumb. The Tenodesis Screw with a convenient disposables kit the CMC Ligament Reconstruction Kit will enable a faster, more convenient repair providing strong and immediate fixation of the tendon graft. 

 
With the included Guidewire and 4 mm cannulated Drill Bit, the bone tunnel at the base of the first metacarpal is established. The QuickPass Tendon Shuttle is included to allow for hassle-free passage of the tendon graft through the prepared tunnel. The 4 mm x 10 mm PEEK Tenodesis Screw provides strong and immediate fixation of the graft, which allows for a more robust repair and enables precision tensioning of the graft. A complete Bio-Tenodesis master set is available if additional sizes are desired.

Procedure

The Interference Screw Technique reconstructs the UCL by using a looped graft anchored into single bone tunnels in the humerus and ulna. The graft is then secured with Arthrex Interference Screws on both sides. FiberWire can also be used for suturing the graft to itself for increased tension and/or original ligament repair for added stabilization.

Tenodesis Screws™&nbsp;may be used in conjunction with #2 or 2-0 FiberWire®&nbsp;to facilitate intraoperative tissue tensioning and fixation in a predrilled socket. The predrilled socket minimizes incision length, dissection, and overall morbidity. BioComposite, PLLA, vented PEEK or titanium Tenodesis Screw insertion provides superior and immediate fixation for foot and ankle indications such as Achilles repair, FDL, FHL tendon transfers and lateral ligament stabilization. The system can also be used for applications in the hand and elbow (UCL, LRTI, distal biceps), shoulder (rotator cuff repair, proximal biceps), as well as collateral ligament repair, reconstruction and secondary graft or suture fixation for ACL, PCL reconstruction. This construct allows for direct tendon-to-bone healing, without hardware prominence. &nbsp;
The Tenodesis Screws are part of the Bio-Tenodesis Screw System which eliminates transosseous tunnels in tendon repairs and ligament reconstructions by simplifying tissue fixation in a bone socket while maintaining tension of the tissue throughout fixation.&nbsp; A specially designed, retracting screwdriver with extended tip tensions the graft near the base of the socket while a unique outer sleeve delivers the Tenodesis Screw as the extended driver retracts. This technique is ideally applicable for biceps tendon and collateral ligament repairs. The graft passing sutures through the screw cannulation can be used to provide backup fixation by incorporating anti-slippage mulberry knots at the distal end of the screw. The suture ends can be tied over the screw at the completion of the procedure as additional backup fixation, if desired.

The Tenodesis screw may be used in conjunction with #2 or 2-0 FiberWire® suture to facilitate intraoperative tissue tensioning and fixation in a predrilled socket. The predrilled socket minimizes incision length, dissection, and overall morbidity. BioComposite, vented PEEK, or titanium Tenodesis screws provide superior and immediate fixation for foot and ankle indications such as Achilles repair, FDL or FHL tendon transfers, and lateral ligament stabilization. The Tenodesis Screw System can also be used for applications in the hand (LTRI), elbow (UCL, distal biceps), and shoulder (rotator cuff repair, proximal biceps), as well as for collateral ligament repair, reconstruction, and secondary graft or suture fixation for ACL or PCL reconstruction. This construct allows for direct tendon-to-bone healing, without hardware prominence.
When used in conjunction, the Tenodesis Screw System and complementary Tenodesis screws eliminate transosseous tunnels in tendon repairs and ligament reconstructions by simplifying tissue fixation in the bone socket while maintaining tension of the tissue throughout fixation.
