Atraumatic Hip Access Disposable Kits

Gaining access to the hip joint during hip arthroscopy procedures carries the risk of iatrogenic damage to the labrum and chondral surfaces. However, recent advancements in hip arthroscopy technology help minimize this risk and simplify joint access. The all-in-one Atraumatic Hip Access Disposable Kit provides surgeons with everything needed for efficient and controlled access.

What Tools Are Available for Safe Hip Joint Access?

The atraumatic hip access needle features a spring-loaded, blunt-tip inner stylet that retracts upon resistance and protracts once resistance clears. This design protects critical hip structures and reduces the risk of iatrogenic damage during portal placement.

The FlushFit atraumatic cannula has a soft, plastic tip that sits flush with the end of an arthroscope and reduces the risk of damaging the chondral surface of the femoral head upon accessing the hip joint. The cannula is compatible with extended- and standard-length 70° arthroscopes and the Pano™ scope for optimal joint visualization and offers a quick-connect bridge that enhances efficiency and ease of use. The disposable FlushFit system includes two cannulas and a cannulated obturator.

The SafeCut™ capsulotomy blade features a blunt tip designed to minimize the risk of iatrogenic injury to the cartilage and soft tissue during capsulotomies. The rounded blade can be safely introduced inside the joint through a FlushFit atraumatic cannula and is specifically crafted for cutting through thick hip capsular tissue.

What Is Included in the Atraumatic Hip Access Kits?

Each disposable kit includes an atraumatic access needle, a standard access needle, two nitinol guidewires, the FlushFit Atraumatic Cannula System, and the choice of a SafeCut or CapsuleCut™ capsulotomy blade. This consolidates all the necessary joint access tools into one convenient package, enhancing procedural efficiency and streamlining back-table setup.

What Are the Essentials Kits?

The Essentials Atraumatic Hip Access Disposable Kits are a streamlined option that includes an atraumatic access needle, a standard access needle, and two 1.1 mm nitinol guidewires.
