Todd Oliver, MD, (Columbia, MO) presents Lateral Hook Plate animation. The Lateral Hook Plate is used to treat distal fibular fractures with extreme extension. Compression across transverse fractures can be achieved by placing a screw superiorly in the oblong hole as well as through the hooks in the plate. Chamfers are designed into the plate reducing the profile of the TightRope® button for associated syndesmosis injuries.
