Description

The Medical Education Coordinator will provide support to Fortis Surgical and the sales teams throughout the Agency by educating sales representatives, coordinating bioskills labs for surgeons, and product requests for demos. This role will report to the Medical Education Manager and will be primarily based in Norfolk, VA with travel required within the state.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop knowledge and understanding of all the products that Fortis sells/supports through internal training, Arthrex Initial Onsite Training (Sports and DEX), and actively participating in product training opportunities provided by Fortis Surgical and Arthrex.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with salesforce and operations to ensure trust and confidence.
  • Foster and advance a strong medical education program for newly hired sales representatives.
  • Ownership of lab operations and associated processes including, but not limited to, fielding bioskills lab requests, ordering instrument trays from Arthrex, coordinating meals as applicable, tracking lab stats, providing clinical support during labs, and MedTrac reporting.
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining lab resources such as supplies, samples, instrumentation and equipment, and cadaveric specimens.
  • Ensure availability, maintenance, organization, and tracking of samples, literature, and sawbones for demonstration requests for the Agency.
  • Support surgeon training initiatives by promoting quality and consistency of local courses, labs, and demonstrations.
  • Support sales initiatives by staying up to date on all new product launches and upgrades

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, kinesiology, exercise science, or related. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Teaching and/or coaching, or relevant leadership experience, preferred.
  • Successful completion of Fortis University and Sports Initial Onsite Training within 9 months of start date.
  • Successful completion of Distal Extremities Initial Onsite Training within 16 months of start date.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability in adaptability, working independently, and continuous improvement.
