About the Role

The Director of Legal & Compliance APAC will play a pivotal role in ensuring Arthrex operates in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations throughout the APAC region. This strategic leadership position will oversee legal and compliance initiatives in collaboration with senior leadership from our global head office (USA) and across APAC. You will lead a team of legal and compliance professionals and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support the company's strategic goals.

 

Key responsibilities include: team leadership, legal strategy and counsel, compliance oversight, contract management, IP management, distributor management, internal investigations, regulatory affairs collaboration, data privacy, and risk management.

 

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer combining solid academic background and practical experience in business law and compliance matters.
  • Professional experience gained leading legal and compliance, ideally within the medical device or healthcare industry.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards in the APAC region.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with a willingness to collaborate, share knowledge, respond quickly to urgent matters and execute proactively.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Fluency in English. Any proficiency in additional languages relevant to the APAC region is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of the business environment and the ability to provide high-quality legal advice with a view on finding pragmatic solutions for the business.
  • Ability to forecast legal issues and risks.
