Description

Direct and oversee Steelhead Surgical, Inc sales policies, objectives, and initiatives. Set short- and long-term sales strategies and evaluate effectiveness of current compensation plans and sales force. Extensive knowledge of all Arthrex products, SSI territory and customers. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to top management. Understand what motivates customers to buy and know how to tap into those needs and desires in an effective way.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent Steelhead Surgical, an authorized agent for Arthrex, by working with a sophisticated audience comprised of surgeons and healthcare professionals.
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for territories, projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.
  • Develop sales action plans and ensure the implementation and success of the plans.
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix and selling price by keeping current with changing trends, new technology and competitors.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending Arthrex training and industry tradeshows.
  • Manage, develop, coach, control and motivate the sales force to develop their skill to ensure that a high professional standard.
  • Ensure targets are delivered through people management, performance review, reward, and individual recognition.
  • Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the sales team and manage the sales program accordingly.
  • Provide on-the-ground support for Agency Representatives as they generate leads and close new opportunities.
  • Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of our company’s relationship with them.
  • Provide a weekly report of field sales success and communicate daily with the President.
  • Sell to existing accounts as well as promote new products and technology training to the physician.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute a territory plan.
  • Maintain an accurate proprietary customer relationship management (CRM) database. Includes forecasting, lead generation and account maintenance.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1-3 years' previous sales experience, health care preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Must be comfortable in surgery/operating room environments.
  • Desire and ability to learn a high level of medical technical information as it relates to Orthopedic surgery.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • MS Office is required.
  • Strong public speaking and communication skills are required.
  • A strong sense of urgency is important.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Current Driver’s License.
  • Access to your own transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
