Orthopaedic Technology Innovation Forums Educating Surgeons Around the World

Arthroplasty OTIFIn the month of April, Arthrex welcomed hundreds of surgeons from throughout the world to specialized Orthopaedic Technology Innovation Forums (OTIF) for Foot & Ankle, Hip Preservation and Arthroplasty. Many attendees included team physicians from a variety of top professional and collegiate sports teams!

The comprehensive medical education meetings presented the latest advancements in each specialty with attendees participating in live surgical demonstrations and discussions led by Arthrex faculty, product management and the Medical Education team.

Hosted in Carlsbad, CA, April 22-23, the Foot & Ankle OTIF event had surgeons in attendance from six countries and 28 U.S. states, among which were many team physicians representing the University of Alabama Athletic Department, Auburn University Athletic Department, Emory University Athletic Department, Georgia Institute of Technology Athletic Department, Northern Kentucky University Athletic Department and the Dallas Cowboys.

Next up, a hip preservation-specialized OTIF was held in Irving, TX for surgeons from four countries and 23 U.S. states, with team physicians in attendance from the New York Rangers, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, New Orleans Saints, Detroit Lions, St. Louis Cardinals, University of Connecticut Athletic Department, Florida Gulf Coast University Athletic Department, Iowa State University Athletic Department and University of Michigan Athletic Department.

On April 29-30, Arthrex hosted more than 85 surgeons from around the world at the Medical Education Center in Naples, FL for the 2nd Annual Arthroplasty OTIF. World-renowned surgeons in the field of joint reconstruction and replacement spoke on a variety of innovative topics related to the latest advancements in arthroplasty and patient care.
 
Faculty surgeons in attendance represented six countries and 30 U.S. states, and included team physicians from the Phoenix Suns, New York Mets, New York Rangers, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bulls, University of Connecticut Athletic Department, Iowa State Athletic Department and Yale University Athletic Department.

Similar forums are held throughout the year focused on additional specialties as part of Arthrex’s innovative medical education programs.

*Faculty are surgeons who have received in-depth, hands-on training on Arthrex products and surgical techniques in order to instruct other surgeons at the hundreds of medical education courses held at Arthrex labs and other venues around the world throughout the year.
