Geography and Climate
Myanmar (formerly Burma) is a nation in southeast Asia bordering the Indian Ocean. Much of the country is covered by subtropical forests. Myanmar is regularly beset by natural disasters.
In May 2008, cyclone Nargis left a trail of devastation in Myanmar: More than 140,000 people lost their lives and many more were injured.
Despite the challenging political situation in the country, it was still possible to provide food, medical supplies and emergency accommodation. To make sure help was available, the Arthrex Foundation donated 10.000,00 Euro to assist with reconstruction.
Outcome of the Project
Assistance with reconstruction was successfully provided in the affected regions.
