Arthrex Hosts Florida Governor Rick Scott’s “Jobs Jamboree” Inauguration Event

Gov. Rick Scott's Jobs JamboreeOn Tuesday, December 2, 2014, Arthrex was proud to host Florida Governor Rick Scott’s “Jobs Jamboree” inauguration event outside of its corporate offices in Naples, FL.

More than 300 Arthrex employees, state and local officials and community leaders attended the festive, informal evening to partake in BBQ and celebrate economic growth and job creation in the state.

Arthrex VP, General Counsel John Schmieding formally welcomed and introduced Florida Lt. Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera and Florida Governor Rick Scott, who both addressed the audience and praised Arthrex for its job expansion.

Over the past four years, Arthrex has added about 1,000 new jobs; with more than 500 of those jobs created in 2014 alone. Arthrex’s unwavering efforts of helping surgeons treat their patients better, along with Governor Rick Scott and the state Legislature’s temporary elimination of sales tax on manufacturing equipment, has helped the Arthrex job surge.

“He (Scott) understands business, understands that cutting taxes helps companies like Arthrex to invest in employees,” said Schmieding. “He understands cutting regulations and removing roadblocks to create jobs.”

During his first term as Governor, Scott demonstrated significant support of Arthrex. He attended both the groundbreaking and grand opening events for Arthrex Manufacturing East, recognized Arthrex with the Governor’s Innovators in Business Award in 2012 and named Arthrex a top company in Florida’s Silver Shovel award for significant job creation and economic impact.
