Trip of a Lifetime: Richard Mascera’s Swiss Adventure

RichardMasceraWe’re highlighting Years of Service trip experiences, like Lab Technician Richard Mascera’s journey around Switzerland, courtesy of Arthrex and its generous benefits.

Richard shared about his trip, “My girlfriend and I flew into Zurich and took a train south to Lucerne. We explored the city and took a series of gondola rides to the top of Mount Pilatus which had incredible views. The next day we went west to the capital, Bern, for two days. We had lunch in the famous rose garden and swam in the Aare River. On the second day, we rented bikes and rode to a cheese farm at the top of a mountain. I had fondue for the first time! We then took a train to Zermatt and rode the Gornergrat Express up to the mountain peak. There were 360-degree views of the Matterhorn, all the surrounding peaks and five glaciers! Back in town, we passed the Ricola herb gardens and made our way through Gorner Gorge (pictured). We then took a train the following day to Interlaken. LakeBrienzThere was a festival called Unspunnen that takes place every 12 years where people dress in traditional Swiss clothing. We took a boat ride on Lake Brienz the following day. It was amazing!”

The Trip of a Lifetime program is one of Arthrex’s most distinctive and valued recognition programs. For every five years of service, Arthrex employees are eligible for a company-paid trip just like Richard’s to the destination of their choice and an extra 40 hours of paid vacation time in which to take the trip. Employees look forward to this generous benefit to create a lifetime of special memories.
