Cooking Up a Surprise: Medical Education Team Surprises Culinary Team

One of Arthrex’s most well-known benefits is the free, catered lunches that employees are provided by our award-winning executive chef and in-house culinary department. They work hard in our state-of-the-art kitchen to prepare fresh and healthy meals daily and recently, one team wanted to thank them for all they do.

The Medical Education department pulled off the ultimate surprise for the Culinary team this holiday season by secretly planning, preparing and serving them a special meal to show their appreciation for their dedication throughout the year.

Executive Chef William Blum, who was in on the surprise, held a Culinary team meeting while the Medical Education department sneaked into the kitchen to put the finishing touches on the food they had secretly prepared. The Culinary team was shocked when they walked out of the meeting to find a lunch buffet, festive centerpieces and a sundae bar, along with cheers and applause from the Medical Education team.

ServingLunch VP of Global Medical Education Christopher Adams, MD praised the Culinary team, saying, “You all work hard to serve delicious lunches to all of us and we wanted to show you how grateful we are.”

Medical Education Coordinator Santiago Oliveros added, “This is the season for giving back and the Culinary team works morning and night to make these delicious meals. It’s nice to be able to thank them like this.”

After lunch, the Medical Education team washed dishes, put away food and cleaned up the room just as the Culinary team does after each event. Jesus Arambul, conference/catering setup tech, said, “This was an awesome surprise. My co-workers and I feel really appreciated and even more like a part of the team. We didn’t see it coming!”

We’re proud to have employees who recognize the hard work of their fellow Arthrex team members.
