ACL Pediatric Reconstruction

ACL Pediatric Reconstruction involves special considerations of the growth plates in skeletally immature patients. ACL pediatric reconstruction is similar to adult ACL reconstruction in that it involves using tissue taken from the patient (autograft) or taken from a tissue donor (allograft). It also involves making tunnels or sockets in the femur and tibia, allowing passage of the graft material in order to reconstruct the ACL. However, these tunnels are made with the special considerations of the growth plates in mind. With Arthrex® “All-inside” techniques with marking hooks designed for the skeletally immature patient, Arthrex helps provide surgeons with the latest in pediatric ACL reconstruction.
