Position Summary

The Inventory Specialist oversees the operations of the designated warehouse and is responsible for ensuring maximum inventory efficiency.

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and control the outflow and inflow of inventory, as well as shipment, loading, and storage activities for designated warehouse.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels, conduct weekly cycle counts, make ordering decisions for goods, and ensure the optimal inventory is ready for use.
  • Keep track of inventory using computerized inventory systems, and ensure all items are appropriately received and stored.
  • Produce and analyze inventory reports to establish PAR (safety stock) levels for each item.
  • Conduct instrument set audits to ensure set inventory accuracy of at least 99.98%.
  • Support local and non-local sales representatives with inventory related questions or concerns.
  • Examine and investigate inventory discrepancies.
  • Assist in developing and initiating control policies and procedures and in planning activities that relate to inventory control for designated warehouse.
  • Review shipping or receiving orders and requests for movement of materials and products.
  • Administer operational procedures for activities, such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Evaluate physical condition of warehouse and equipment and prepare work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
  • Provide guidance, training and direction to warehouse employees.
  • Assist with investigating causes of budget variances and develop solutions to resolve as well as prevent further variances caused by inefficiencies, technical or procedural errors or other causes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience required.
  • A solid understanding of basic warehouse functions required, including FIFO principles.
  • ERP software competency required.
  • High level of attention to detail required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

  • Current Driver's license
  • Access to your own transportation
