Description

The District Director is responsible for achieving predetermined sales goals and quotas within their team's assigned district. The District Director must establish, build, and maintain customer relations through constant communications and in-person appointments. This position is responsible for maintaining expert knowledge of our market-leading product portfolio. Most of the time will be the management of area managers, area teams and Territory Managers. Management of territories/teams regarding performance, meeting goals, quota expectations, and management of all Reel Surgical guidelines administered by the Reel Surgical administration. Report results and plans to the Agency leadership. Living the REEL Standard is integral to our strategic planning, team building, and relationship creation.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in building quotas for the district and assigned territories
  • Maintains, strengthens, and expands existing relationships with selected accounts
  • Develops, implements, and monitors sales and finance plans (contracts) with these accounts
  • Evaluates strategic opportunities with select accounts and outline solutions in meetings with agency leadership
  • Work closely with team leaders on forecasting needs, outlier cases, etc
  • Understands and knows all products, surgical procedures, and programs and can speak knowledgeably with account and surgeon customers on these subjects
  • Coordinates sales and MedEd training for territory representatives and tracks progress on these standardized programs
  • Works closely with the MedEd Director on the following items, including but not limited to; Reel Surgical New Hire onboarding/training, ECI sales training, Arthrex 5-day IOT, and product-specific courses
  • Development of sales force, along with operational improvements
  • Understands Cognos sales evaluation software and utilize this program as an essential tool in everyday job requirements
  • Hiring decisions in collaboration with agency leadership
  • Assists with commission plans for territories
  • Assists with evaluations for representatives
  • Attends management and regional training meetings to learn about new and existing products, procedures, and programs
  • Makes presentations to attendees at the meeting if requested
  • Attends industry meetings, if appropriate
  • Writes and posts periodic reports to update Agency Leadership
  • Convert key surgeons to Arthrex techniques and products by utilizing a high level of technical and surgical profitably
  • Sell Arthrex product lines and exceed assigned quota for the products by utilizing a consultative sales approach and leadership in competitive situations
  • Primarily responsible for meeting and exceeding sales objectives for the territories within the Represent Reel Surgical, an independent regional distributor authorized to sell Arthrex products, by working with a sophisticated audience comprised of surgeons and healthcare professionals
  • Increase territory results by building and maintaining strong business relationships and developing and implementing sales
  • Communicate with current and new customer accounts regarding a variety of topics, including product updates, changes to product portfolio, and educational
  • Implement new sales plans and effective marketing strategies to position the organization competitively and to meet/exceed territory
  • Identify the needs of new prospects and develop appropriate responses (written, telephone and face-to-face)
  • Cross-sell additional products or manage new product introductions as they become available
  • Address any problems that arise within the district
  • Support compliance and the principles of responsibility by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information; protecting the assets of the organization; acting with ethics and integrity; reporting non-compliance; and adhering to applicable federal, state & local laws and regulations, accreditation & licensure requirements, and company policies & procedures
  • Work with Area Managers, Product Managers and Territory Managers by receiving and providing coaching, training, or mentoring; transfer knowledge to peer Sales Representatives and Clinical Specialist when needed
  • Maintain training in sales skills, product features/benefits, and other critical business
  • Collect competitive data and remain current on industry, customer, and competitive
  • Participate in and attend sales meetings and professional association meetings outside of regular business hours
  • This position requires extensive travel within the territory with the possibility of weekend work and limited overnight at Arthrex Headquarters, and AAOS/Society meetings
  • Maintains, strengthens, and expands existing relationships with selected accounts
  • Has or will obtain a thorough understanding of established account sales history, surgeon customers, buying group affiliations, objectives, and the structure of the District
  • Manage and grow assigned territory/teams
  • Develop and maintain key relationships
  • Help drive Surgeon Medical Education
  • A significant role in identifying, training, and mentoring sales reps to get them to the next level
  • Represent Arthrex products to customers, in which he exercises control over the method and means of performing services and the time spent in pursuit of that business
  • Distribute products to members of the medical profession, including, without limitation; physicians, hospitals, surgery centers, and clinics
  • Identify and drive sales opportunities and the ability to up-sell
  • Can do all cases and has a technical proficiency

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to customers and constituents within the orthopedic/sports medicine market
  • 5+ years of demonstrated sales
  • Experience as an associate in the orthopedic industry
  • Must be comfortable in surgery/operating room
  • Experience leading highly dynamic teams

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and Training:

  • MS Office
  • Strong public speaking and communication skills
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Flexible schedule – expect to be on call as needed, including weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
