The Trauma Manager is responsible for achieving monthly and annual predetermined Sports goals and quotas within the company for all related trauma products.  They must establish, build, and maintain relationships with the other Product Managers and the Territory Managers through excellent communications and in-person meetings. This position is specifically responsible for maintaining expert knowledge of our market-leading product portfolio in all trauma related products. The trauma manager will be consulting with surgeons in the operating room regarding the use of our implants and instruments.

Salary slot based on performance of bucket and True North (TN) overall performance. To be considered for this position, the candidate must have held a Territory Manager role or viewed by management to have met other guidelines and have a minimum of 5 years within Arthrex or held previous trauma experience with another company.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following list.   Additionally, demonstrating an adherence to, and mentoring of, the TN culture is of the most importance. 

This person will report directly to the Vice President of Sales.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to schedule and adjust to demanding but flexible schedule, due to the nature of last-minute Trauma cases. 
  • Gains and maintains an acceptable level of knowledge of the Orthopedic Trauma portfolio and product line, business objectives, pricing strategies, and proven sales techniques for Orthopedic Trauma products.
  • Train physicians on Arthrex products through education/programs (i.e. labs and training courses). Conduct Orthopedic in-service training programs at hospitals and clinics.
  • Establishes and maintains written and oral communication with both field and internal sales management with attention to sales calls made, follow-up required, market potential and recommendations as to new sales, pricing, or promotional strategy
  • Maintain a close relationship with Arthrex product management and leadership as it relates specifically to the bucket responsible within the trauma portfolio.
  • Submit yearly business plan for your bucket by June 15th of previous year. Outline hiring needs, training, new products, agency concerns/issues, new initiatives to increase sales, growth of specialists in your bucket. 
  • Be up to date on new product launches and devise and implement any necessary trainings for the TN sales team
  • Help to create and submit Agency, and Territory quotas for your sales bucket to the Vice President of Sales and Owner for review. Devise and implement plans and meetings that hold all levels of the sales force accountable for staying on target with quota achievement.   This should be done under the framework of the TN sales process and will include TN management and key sales team members
  • Devise and implement plans for the Vice President of Sales to meet and exceed quarterly and annual quotas and be the best resource for the TN teams in the field. This includes, but is not limited to, labs, trainings, key customer sales, roll out of new products, training of new reps, Naples trips, Arthrex management dialogue, etc.  The successful Trauma Manager will help build a team of Specialists as sales increase to adequately support the TN sales force with the objectives given to them.
  • Monitor and work with the Owner, Vice President of Sales, Business Ops Manager and Territory Managers to ensure each team is properly staffed with the appropriate number of sales team members to achieve the goals laid out for them. Assist in interviewing potential candidates for The TN sales force and provide expert opinion on who best would serve the needs of TN moving forward.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in creating, evaluating, and explaining Arthrex sales reporting to assist the sales force in determining the most viable areas to spend time and resources. Work very closely with the Business Operations and Vice President of Sales manager to create strategy and the best method to exceed T28 product quotas.
  • Have complete understanding of the TN Sales Process and be able to confidently use this when evaluating, mentoring, or holding accountable the sales force. Create action plans that utilize the ECI sales process on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Have monthly meetings with Territory Managers to ensure a clear, concise message that aligns with Arthrex and TN overall objectives.
  • Meet monthly with the Vice President of Sales to report on the goings-on in your bucket. This will include, but not be limited to, sales growth of Territories, areas of need, resources needed to accomplished set objectives, hiring needs, upcoming trainings with the sales force, progress of direct reports and how they are growing with their career, Arthrex management needs or concerns, etc.
  • Have yearly reviews with the Owner and Vice President of Sales where goals will be established for the upcoming year and a review of previous year will take place.
  • Identify and establish relationships with the most viable customers within each territory, assist field representatives in providing value to these customers at a high level. This should include being able to answer the highest-level questions or objections that the field sales have uncovered.  Being up to date on latest studies, trends, product advances, etc. is a must. 
  • Visible in the field 50% of week/month.
  • Understand each technique and be the resident expert within your buckets to answer all questions that are uncovered within the OR and out of the OR.
  • Work with Inventory Manager on warehouse Par levels, Product Utilization, and decision on what we carry. Responsible for expiring Bio products.
  • Update inventory definitions, maximize sales, and minimize redundant products and manage tray allocations
  • If needed assist in product audits with the operations team.
  • If needed in order to achieve business results be able to provide support in the OR.
  • Maintain all required certifications in order to enter accounts – example (Reptrax, Symplr, etc)
  • Follow all AdvaMed guidelines for compliance and ethics.
  • Utilize Naples and local labs on a frequent basis throughout the FY.
  • And any other duties that may be assigned from time to time in Company’s sole discretion
  • Represent TN at various National functions, included but not limited to AATC, AAOS, etc.
