Arthrex Hosts Youth Leadership Collier Class
On Monday, June 18, 2012, Arthrex hosted the 2012 Youth Leadership Collier (YLC) Class at the Medical Education Center of its corporate headquarters in Naples. The 33 high school students represented a wide array of local area schools and socioeconomic backgrounds.
The YLC class was provided with an overview of Arthrex’s contributions in the community and beyond through healthcare technology innovation, job creation, employee growth and development, economic diversification, and charitable giving. In addition, David Shepard, director of Orthobiologics and Vet Systems, presented about the exciting future of orthobiologic treatments, while Michael Boose, human resources manager, presented on the various career opportunities at Arthrex, the requirements of various professions and industries, and the skills that will make them valuable assets to future employers.
The students were also provided with hands-on interactions and tours of Arthrex’s research and development lab and manufacturing facilities.
The YLC program empowers students to become effective leaders, instills the values and importance of community stewardship, and showcases Collier County so that students will consider coming back to their community to begin their careers and families.
