Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI) is caused by an overgrowth of bone on the acetabulum (pincer lesion) or an excess of bone arising from the femoral head/neck (cam lesion). FAI is often mixed pincer and cam pathology, causing impingement of the labrum between the acetabular rim and femoral neck during hip range of motion.

Procedure

Removal of the Cam or Pincer lesion with or without takedown and repair of the acetabular labrum. This may also include removal of the Cam lesion.
