We recently hosted the Southwest Chapter of BioFlorida, an advocacy group with the purpose of advancing the life sciences industry in the state. Brian R. Dorn, PhD, Senior Intellectual Property Counsel and member of the BioFlorida Board of Directors and Southwest Chapter Leadership Team, welcomed the group of nearly 50 professionals from the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical technology (devices and diagnostics) and bioagriculture sectors. Sr. Director of Corporate Communications Dennis O’Keefe presented on the history and mission of our company. Knee/Hip Arthroplasty Engineering Manager Scott Sherman spoke about Arthrex’s innovative engineering process and product lifecycle and Sr. Director of Orthobiologics David Shepard provided an update on products such as Amnion™ Matrix, Intraosseous Bioplasty™ (IOBP) system and ArthroFLEX® dermal allograft.

“Members came from throughout the state and were very impressed with Arthrex,” said Brian. “It’s important for us to partner with BioFlorida as one of the biggest life sciences companies in the state. Our leadership enables us to have a voice in helping to shape policy and advocate for issues impacting our industry.”

Arthrex is one of more than 6,000 life sciences companies that BioFlorida represents.
