Arthrex Manufacturing Employees Celebrate Global Holiday Traditions

Sharing different traditions is part of the fun of celebrating the holiday season.

That was the goal of “Holidays Around the World,” a potluck-style luncheon put on by the AMIE Packaging Operations Team (Prepackaging, Cleanroom, Boxing and Quality Control) to showcase how Arthrex employees from different cultures celebrate the holidays. The first shift crew held its lunch on Friday, November 22, and the second shift enjoyed their event on Tuesday, November 19.

HolidaysAroundtheWorld“We held an event like this four years ago and it was a success, so I was excited to help organize it again this year,” said Assembly and Packaging Supervisor Lead Claudia Galvan. “We wanted to bring everyone together as a team before we all go our own ways for the holidays.”

More than 120 employees attended the first shift lunch, which consisted of more than 80 unique salads, entrees, desserts and beverages. From homemade tamales and passion fruit mousse to spanakopita (a Greek savory spinach pie) and pancit (a Filipino noodle dish), employees enjoyed fare from around the world and many tried dishes for the first time.

Senior Inventory Control Clerk Edith Molina prepared a Colombian beef and rice dish that she was proud to share for the event.

“Everything was delicious!” said Edith. “There were so many different things to taste.”

“We all work really hard, and being on different teams, we often focus on separate projects,” said Packaging Operations Manager Craig Klein. “This was a great opportunity for members of all these teams, whether they work in the office or in the cleanroom, to get together.”

Claudia planned and organized the event, managed volunteers to help with the cooking and set up and asked the team leads, supervisors and managers to serve the meal.

Claudia said, “It’s very important that our teams know we appreciate their hard work, so we wanted to do something special for them. We hope this becomes a tradition here at AMIE.”
