The Double Compression Plate System allows maximal surgical compression across fusion sites. Initial compression is achieved using standard compression hole principles, while additional secondary compression is achieved by distracting the bridge “arms” of the plate construct. This double compression mechanism provides maximum compression potential while giving the surgeon direct visual and tactile feedback.
The plating system’s unique bridge thickness and geometry make for a low-profile contour with improved fatigue rigidity.* The flexibility afforded by both locking and nonlocking compression holes and multiple geometric plate configurations optimize the options for fixation while maximizing the advantages of the nonlocking compression hole mechanism.
The fixation system’s simplicity, ease of use, and multiple plate configurations allow these plates to be used for talonavicular, calcaneocuboid, transverse tarsometatarsal, forefoot, and hindfoot arthrodesis sites.
The double compression mechanism enhances the potential for bone-to-bone opposition, which is a critical factor in overall construct stability.
