Hip Labral Repair With 2.4 mm Mini Hip PushLock® Anchors

In this animation, we will demonstrate the repair of a torn labrum. The labrum is a ring of cartilage located on the rim of the socket of your hip joint. It adds stability between the ball and socket joint, and can be torn due to an acute injury, or may become degenerative over time. During the minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, a small camera is inserted into the hip joint. The repair site is prepared and your surgeon will pass a suture around the labrum. Then, using a guide, a small hole is made in the bone. Next, the suture is loaded into an anchor and both are placed into the small hole. Securing the labrum in place. Finally, the excess suture is removed. If necessary, your surgeon will repeat this step until all the torn tissue is repaired.
