Lisa Bessette Celebrates the Wedding Anniversary of a Lifetime

LisaBessette

Supply Chain Production Planner Lisa Bessette celebrated her fifth year at AMIE this winter and recently returned from her company-funded Trip of a Lifetime. She shared about her trip:

“I was extremely honored to be given such an incredible opportunity when I was first hired at Arthrex. It was an added bonus when I learned about all the wonderful benefits that came with it!

The one that stood out to me most was the Trip of a Lifetime benefit. Ever since I first learned about it, I knew I was going to use it to fulfill a lifelong dream of mine by going to Europe.

That dream came true this past December. My husband Chad and I went to Paris, Barcelona and Madrid, and it was absolutely amazing. We walked an average of 15 miles each day visiting the cathedrals, monuments and museums and eating all of the delicious food we could.

LisaBessetteOur hotel in Paris was right around the corner from the Arc de Triomphe, and in just a few minutes’ walk we were at the Eiffel Tower. From there, we walked back through Avenue des Champs-Élysées to see all the shops and restaurants. During our stay, we also visited to the Louvre Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Sainte-Chapelle, the Palace of Versailles and the Pantheon. It felt like we were in another world.

Notre Dame Cathedral was still under reconstruction after the recent fire, so we couldn’t go inside. Even then, it was still an amazing sight to see.

From there, we set flight to Barcelona and stayed right in the heart of the Gothic Quarter. On our first night we got to eat a traditional paella and it was out of this world. Next, we visited La Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, La Basílica, and stopped at one of Forbes’ Top 50 bars in the world, Dr. Stravinsky. That was an experience! Dr. Stravinsky is very small and quaint and no typical drinks are served. Once you’re seated, the staff gives you the menu and your drink is based on your birth month and what flavor you like: sour, fresh or sweet. Once you decide that, you turn the page to find your drink. Mine was a Cola Kombucha. It was delicious and very different.

We also got to eat and shop at La Rambla, walked by the Columbus Monument and walked all over Gothic Quarter.

Our last stop was Madrid, where we visited Museo del Prado, Buen Retiro Park and Almudena Cathedral.

This was a very special trip not only because I was celebrating my five-year Arthrex anniversary, but because it was also our 20th wedding anniversary! This was definitely a Trip of a Lifetime and a memory that will stay with us forever.

Thank you, Arthrex!”
