MAIN OBJECTIVE:

The Senior Operation Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure and optimize the overall operation, including: leading the Supply Chain Team (Customer Service, Distribution and Service and Repair) developing systems and process, and mitigating risk. This is a hands-on position role that will enable Arthrex Japan organization to meet sales and service objectives. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for managing all Operations activities that affects Japan market. Responsible for stakeholder engagement with General Managers of Japan and Operations Director of APAC.  Coordinate all Supply Chain, Distribution, Service and Repair, and Customer Service functions for Japan
  • Provides strategic direction to Supply Chain, Distribution, Service and Repair, and Customer Service operations. Partners with Sales and Marketing leadership to design and implement Supply Chain initiatives, especially in the area of New Product Launch and ensure Supply Chain and distribution operations drive commercial value as well as improved the company bottom line in regard to cost
  • Manage the markets demand plan over the planning horizon to identify trends / issues / corrective actions – thru Demand analysis, Demand Scenarios, Reconciliation with Financials
  • Accountable for the Market Sales and Operations Process (S&OP)
  • Actively develop relationship with the Market Commercial team to build market knowledge over the 18 to 24 months Planning Horizon
  • Accountable for Finished Goods Inventory within Arthrex Japan, and challenge the markets on their inventory Obsolescence (Expired, Damage, Short-Dated and Slow Moving)
  • Accountable for the continuous improvement from Demand Planning, Customer Service, Service and Repair, and Distribution
  • Own, monitor and publish performance metrics and reports (Market Dashboard, Status Report, …)
  • Plan, hire, train, assign and direct work for Operations Team; Coach and Mentor, manage performance, succession plan and complete performance appraisals
  • Ensure Operations policies and processes are established and adhered to ensuring goals and objectives for all regulatory, legal, global and compliance requirements are met
  • Manage the 3PL partner for warehouse operations, working in defining required SLAs and resources required to manage operations within the 3PL
  • Actively manage costs across operations, not only from inventory management, but also from headcount and over time across all segments of activities, such as: warehouse and/or customer service
  • Be a business partner to the GM and Commercial to achieve Arthrex Japan revenue target for the given fiscal year end

Anforderungen

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • University graduate
  • Experience of minimum 7 years in the medical device industry
  • 3-year management experience
  • Good Analytical skills together with Business Acumen
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.  Ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority; build consensus and look for collaboration with people from different departments and all levels
  • Strong hands-on operations, including strategic / tactical capabilities

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Knowledge of related laws, regulations and business guidelines of Orthopedics industry
  • Able to manage time effectively and productively in accordance with objectives
  • Able to prioritize goals, activities, etc., and properly balance long-term important activities with short-term urgent requirements
  • Read, analyze and interpret complex procedures or regulations and write correspondence and procedural documents
  • Experience to manage Customer Service, Logistic, Demand planning and Service & Repair desirable
  • Lean sigma certification desirable

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

  • PC skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook and SAP ERP system)

Reasoning Ability:

  • Logical, analytical, and able to properly link objectives with activities to produce expected results.
  • Proactive problem solver. Able to see situation from different perspectives.

Language and Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal, writing and reading skills in English and Japanese
  • Positive approach in communicating with others. Can clearly express ideas and issues effectively to colleagues in verbal and written forms
