Partial Knee Resurfacing

Isolated compartmental arthritis is radiographically evident in nearly half of all patients who present with knee pain¹. This serves to demonstrate, that while tricompartmental (total) knee arthroplasty is today’s standard, more conservative arthroplasty solutions with successful track records do exist and may meet the needs of patients with isolated, single-compartment changes. The iBalance^® system provides optimized solutions for medial or lateral tibiofemoral arthrosis and patellofemoral arthrosis.

Patellofemoral Joint Arthroplasty

The iBalance^® PFJ system is a complete arthroplasty solution for patients with isolated patellofemoral joint osteoarthritis, post-traumatic arthrosis, or other degenerative changes. The system’s low-profile, anatomic trochlear implant—which is available in 4 sizes—articulates with a round dome, 3-peg patellar component.

Unicondylar Knee Arthroplasty (UKA)

The Arthrex iBalance^® UKA system is a complete minimally invasive instrument and implant platform for the treatment of localized unicondylar cartilage degeneration in the medial or lateral compartment resulting from osteoarthritis or post-traumatic arthrosis. Highly anatomical femoral and tibial resurfacing implants and a novel, innovative instrument platform facilitate an accurate, efficient, and reproducible surgical technique. The coronal and sagittal geometries of the femoral implants match the curvature of a normal knee, with a tapered anterior aspect to help reduce the incidence of patellar abutment. The minimalistic instrumentation system is elegantly designed to be intuitive for the surgeon and OR staff, which helps to reduce the learning curve. The iBalance UKA system provides a predictable, balanced result that ensures near-natural kinematics of the operative compartment.
